Insect sampling at Citrus Valley

UDM's team consist of Dr Hasbullah (supervisor), Mdm Salmah and Bahri was doing insect sampling at Citrus Valley at 17th Dec. Another team, also from UDM, consist of Mr Zarizal, Mr Helmi, Miss Fiza and Aienur, was also joined us but their study was on Citrus Greening disease.

My team was studying the insect biodiversity at two selected plots in Dr Sulaiman's orchard.The symptoms of the Greening disease there were very obvious.We can see that the plants were retarded and producing small fruits with bitter taste.
The techniques we used to collect the insect include Malaise trapping,yellow pan trapping,pitfall trapping, pheromone trapping and sweep netting.Unfortunately,we didn't manage to assemble all of the traps since rains came down at about 12.30 pm.

We would revisited the sampling site in the next Monday to collect the insect on the traps.We expected some difficulties in getting the results because of the frequent rains in Terengganu during this monsoon season.In case of unexpected outcomes,modifying our study would be necessary.
